Land 1 Mono e Toou Papaanga – Land Research, Genealogies and Succession
The aim of this course is to give you a basic understanding and enhanced knowledge and skills on the processes and procedures on access to land, the Cook Islands land laws and policies, and the Ministry of Justice Land Administration Division (court records/documents, applications and court orders).
Level 1 covers: the Ministry of Justice Land Division, how to do a search of family lands, the Register of Titles, the importance of knowing your genealogy, succession to land, the rights of adopted children, rehearing/revocation of succession orders, and the relevant section of the Cook Islands Act 1915 and its amendments and case studies.
